Leah Sharibu: One of Thousands of Christian Girls Held Captive in Nigeria

By Harris Faulkner | Fox News | Nov 19, 2025

Leah Sharibu’s family spokesperson, Dr. Gloria Samdi Puldu, talks with Harris Faulkner on her show, the Faulkner Focus, about thousands of girls held hostage by terrorists operating in Nigeria.

Since 2024 to now, Dr. Puldu reports some 1,680 students have been abducted across Nigeria.

While some have since returned, many remain in captivity where they are used as sex and domestic slaves or, like Leah, married off to terrorist commanders and forced to bear their children.

Leah Sharibu was among 109 students taken from a girls’ school in Dapchi on February 18, 2018. Five girls died along the way. All the rest, save Leah, were returned a month later following government negotiations with the terrorists.

Leah, however, was kept for staunchly refusing to renounce her Christian faith.

Save the Persecuted Christians arranged for Dr. Puldu’s interview with the top FoxNews host who yesterday, Nov. 18, 2025, hosted a panel on Christian killings in Nigeria with US Ambassador to the UN Mike Waltz, former NSC advisor on International Religious Freedom, Sarah Makin, and celebrity, Niki Minaj.

In June, 2019, Save the Persecuted Christians along with former Congressman Frank Wolf and the International Committee on Nigeria hosted Dr. Puldu and Leah’s mother, Rebecca, in Washington, D.C.

Since 2019, STPC has consistently given support and provided opportunities to The Leah Foundation and the Sharibu family to share Leah’s story internationally.
