WASHINGTON, Sept. 2, 2025 /Christian Newswire/ — On Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. EST, government, faith, and nonprofit leaders will gather at the Rayburn House Office Building to sound the alarm about the ongoing genocide of Christians in Nigeria.
Executive Director of Equipping the Persecuted Judd Saul will join Dr. Gloria Samdi Puldu President of the Leah Foundation and representative of the International Committee on Nigeria (ICON). Doug Burton, senior editor of TruthNigeria.com, will also be speaking.
The press conference will feature eyewitness reports, verified data, and new revelations on the Nigerian government’s willful neglect of Christian victims.
The press conference will expose how the Nigerian government has intentionally downplayed and misreported the true scale of kidnappings and killings of Christians, while refusing to acknowledge the existence of terrorist hostage camps operating near military installations.
According to local sources, nine out of 10 Christians murdered for their faith every year since 2020 are killed in Nigeria and millions have been displaced since 2009.
“These atrocities, which are often carried out by extremist Fulani militias, are part of a systematic campaign to erase Christianity from Nigeria’s Middle Belt,” said Dr. Gloria Puldu. “Christian women and girls are disproportionately targeted for abduction, rape, and forced marriage. Leah Sharibu, still in captivity more than seven years later, remains a symbol of this ongoing injustice. The silence of the world is deafening.”
Speakers will give latest updates about vast areas in Nigeria’s Middle Belt region that are under periodic occupation by Islamist Militias seeking to evict native, chiefly Christian farming communities.
“The Nigerian government is not only failing to protect its Christian citizens, but it is also covering up the scale of the atrocities and allowing terror groups to thrive in plain sight,” said Judd Saul, Executive Director of Equipping the Persecuted. “Hostage camps operate next to military bases, while politicians provide cover for kidnappers and killers. This is a genocide, and the time for polite diplomacy is over. The world must recognize these crimes against humanity and act decisively to stop them.”
Members of the press are encouraged to RSVP here.
